Artistic Statement

I am a French weaver who has been weaving for over 35 years. I learned to weave in the Netherlands with a local artist, working on gigantic three-dimensional tapestries.

.

After several years, I changed to loom weaving and began working professionally. My current loom is an AVL - with 16 harnesses, with which I create limited edition designs.

.

Weaving satisfies my needs for creativity. It requires knowledge and skills in many disciplines such as arithmetic, design, color, and art.

.

I love experimenting with different weaving techniques, using a wide range of designs and materials. To see the fabric emerging from my loom is very exciting to me. With great care and quality, I integrate different styles, colors and luxurious fibers to enhance the integrity of the materials. Many of my scarves have a three-dimensional effect and relief structure.

Recently I started also working with the ancient natural dyeing and printing technology

(Eco Dye - Eco Print) after taking a special master’s workshop in Brittany (France May 2013).

This has added a whole new dimension for me to the art of creating special scarves and

a new collection was born.

.

I am a member of the Weavers Guild of Boston and have participated in many shows, museum gift shop, and galleries in Colorado, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Maine, Rhode Island, Vermont and Massachusetts.
